This Weeks Wishes

1. That I could own a lovely Michael Kors watch (or at the least a decent knock off...)
2. That our Spring had stuck around just a tad bit longer. The humidity has long since made itself very much at home and made it clear it's staying for awhile.
3. That I could be in England with one of my best friends who is traveling abroad for the next few weeks. So very green with envy.
4. That Summer would stop trying to rush and get itself over with. It's already June practically.... not ok.
5. That I could be sailing. Or more specifically reading a good book while sailing.
6. That my to-do list would do itself.
7. That I hadn't just eaten quite so many rainbow cookies....
8. That I could have a jar of Nutella
9. That I could be good at motivating myself when I most need to
10. That all those pictures I need to edit would just edit themselves........

Oh Ohio

Travelled to Ohio over the weekend, pretty cool state, I'd never been.
Got some lovely shots with the Instax polaroid and Diana mini on the way up.
(or down... or across... or however you want to look at it.)
West Virginia is a pretty state I must say. All those beautiful misty mountains.

(Camera obsessed? Meeee? Nooo....)

Also ate at the infamous White Castle and Skyline Chili while there.
Pretty sure I could eat at Skyline's every other day and never get tired of it. So. Good.
Wish we had one (or five) back here at home.

P.s. For anyone who's interested, the first street style post is up! You can take a look at it here.
I'm already excited to get out and find some more stylish people this week to photograph!
This is fun.

From The Runway To RVA

I have some exciting news that I want to share with everyone!
Through some exciting new circumstances I now have the opportunity to help contribute to a street style column once a week for the up and coming fashion website From The Runway To RVA!
I will be going around Richmond with my trusty camera and snapping photos (after asking permission of course) of those of you who are dressed stylishly and uniquely, and asking a few questions about what you're wearing and then featuring you on the site (which is founded by Larissa Wisniewski).
All ages, men, women, and children will be sought out and photographed.
I am super excited and looking forward to interacting with some fun Richmond-ers since I myself adore Richmond, being born and raised here, and not only that but fashion and unique style is something I definitely love as well, so to have both in the mix I feel like quite the lucky girl.
So start looking your best Richmond.

You have been warned.

Food For Thought

I loved these lists I found awhile ago. I of course cannot remember where (I'm sorry!) but I thought I'd share them.
Some good things to think about.

Dear Diana

Finally got some of my pictures from my first roll of film in my Diana Mini developed.
I am already in love.
The little imperfections of this camera are what make the pictures beautiful.
While over half were probably not that great (I was learning though so they'll be better next time) the couple that are, make up for it.
Here are just a few of my favorites.

I Wish I Were A Ballerina

Yes. Like Angelina Ballerina, I too sometimes wish I were a ballerina....

(Photo's found in various places that I don't remember exactly....)

Loves of the Week

This week I'm loving:

1. This dress from Karla's Closet

2. All this cute whale stuff found via A Cup of Jo

3. These shoes (via Souvenirs)

4. This poem my Aunt and I made up on her word calendar

5. These handmade baby moccasins found on Kandice's blog
(do they come in my size??)

6. The fact that I went to TWO lovely weddings this past weekend, one of them at the train station downtown
 (more pictures to come)

7. All the rain we've been having.
(I really want to go dancing and puddle jumping in it)

8. The fact that they were selling replicas of this shirt Pablo is wearing at the exhibit this weekend.
How silly.

9. This quote

10. This picture (via Souvenirs)

What are you loving this week?

Incandescently Happy

I love Pride and Prejudice. The book, the movie, all of it.
The 2005 one is my favorite, and I especially love the part at the end of the movie when Elizabeth says that Mr. Darcy is only allowed to call her Mrs. Darcy when he is "Completely and perfectly and incandescently happy".
I just love that phrase: Incandescently happy.
When I am very very happy, I secretly think to myself that I'm not just happy, but incandescently happy.
It's the best kind of mood to be in.

All I Want Is the Best For Our Lives My Dear

I was lucky enough to see Beirut in concert recently. Oh my goodness, one of the best concerts I've ever been to. I loved it so much.
Zach Condon is a talented man.
And the girl who opened for them (Lady Lamb the Beekeeper) was very talented as well. She's my new favorite. You can download some of her stuff that she played here for free.
It was so much fun, such a well put on show, and everyone present had a jolly good time.

The bassist had super cute glasses

And my friend and I got the accordion's set list!!

Pablo Picasso

Went to see the infamous Picasso exhibit at the VMFA this weekend (the last weekend it was there) and though I decided Picasso isn't my favorite artist (I can't tell you how many times I looked at something and said "I don't get it". Though I suppose not all of us are supposed to... hence the "misunderstood artists") it was so much fun (especially going to one of the last showings at 11:30 at night). These are some of my favorites of his that were there.....

I didn't know he had some photography. I loved this one. Especially his head peeking in the mirror. I love vernacular photography.

I feel culturally enriched.
